Tips for making a waterslide transfer:-

To make a waterslide copy of the HMV logo, it is recommended that the high definition (170kB JPEG) version of the image is copied. The size of the printed image needs to be adjusted so that the outermost dimension of the 'pictureframe' portion of the image (ie excluding the text) measures 47mm x 30mm.

Use white transfer paper and follow the instructions supplied for its use.

Print the image on highest definition that printer will allow.

Any type of clear varnish will suffice to 'fix' the image, but be sure to use the same type as will be used to finish the cabinet, as different varnish types can sometimes react with one another (resulting in crinkling).

For best appearance, the pictureframe and the two rows of text need to be separately cut out. Cut as close as possible along the upper edge of the top portion of text (following a gentle contour) so there is minimal of the brown background showing. For the lower edge, and also the complete bottom row of text, this is less critical and straight cuts will be sufficient, provided they are reasonably close to the letters.

The three individual pieces of the transfer should then be fixed in position relative to one another as per the original image.
